Two and a Half Men is an American sitcom that aired on CBS from 2003 until 2015 with a total of 12 seasons. The show’s main character Charlie Harper (played by Charlie Sheen) is a jingle writer who leads an easy-going life based on achieving the highest amount of pleasure possible to him. That is until things get complicated when his recently divorced brother Alan and Alan’s son Jake move to live with him in his Malibu beach house.
Charlie has a great sense of humor and his laid-back attitude makes him seem like a cool guy and fun to hang out with. Still he is not the kind of guy you could really become best friends with. That is because of his inability to truly commit to anything. Never having experienced real love, he loves himself more than anything. Therefore it is no surprise his relationships are short-lived and limited to casual sex. Trying to fill up his inner emptiness, he wants to get as many women as possible. Attempting to do so he chooses to live a flashy lifestyle.
Since Rolex is the world’s most famous watch brand, it is no coincidence Charlie wears one. His particular model is a mid-size Yacht-Master reference 69628.
It is 35mm in case diameter which is on the smaller side for a man’s watch, but it fits his wrist perfectly and doesn’t look out of proportion.
Its platinum bezel and dial let the watch appear dressy and make it very suitable for more formal occasions like in Charlie’s case casino gambling with a group of friends, yet it is still casual enough for when he’s on the balcony of his house in his deck chair smoking a cigar and drinking whiskey.
Its monobloc middle case is made out of stainless steel, which makes the watch perfect for physical activities like surfing in Charlie’s case. Because of its screw-down crown it is incredibly water-resistant, so he can wear it on an early morning stroll on the beach without having to worry about the waves accidentally hitting his arm and destroying the interior.
A Rolex Yacht-Master is the right watch for Charlie, because it’s a Rolex sports watch with a dressy dial he can wear daily. Of course a Rolex Datejust 36 would have fit as well, since it has similar qualities and is also part of Rolex’s Oyster Perpetual collection. When it comes to configuring your favorite model, it’s even got a wider range of options to choose from, but then again, it’s not so much of a tool watch anymore like the Yacht-Master, who’s similarity to the Rolex Submariner is undeniable.
Unfortunately, Charlie’s particular model isn’t produced anymore, but you can find more information on Rolex’s official website about the latest generation Yacht-Master.
